Paal Nilssen-Love is a living legend on the international jazz/improv scene, and is also one of my earliest musical influences. In 2013 he put together his own band, and named his newborn monster «Large Unit». The ensemble consists of 11 players from the nordic countries, and regularly features guest appearances from around the world. The music is a hard hitting meteor of sonic energy, freely exploring the ideas of Paal’s musical universe.
